ABOUT TREVOR

B.S., Ohio University, 2008
J.D., Southwestern Law School, 2012

I'm an Ohioan at heart.  I grew up in Waverly, Ohio.  I went to Ohio University.  After moving to New York for a job opportunity at NBC Nightly News, I realized that the writing skills I learned as a journalism major would be put to better use helping others.  I left New York, and came back to Ohio to attend Capital Law School in Columbus.  After two years at Capital, I transferred to Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, California, to pursue a goal of combining my media experience with my new appreciation for the law.  I worked at Universal Pictures for two years before accepting a job at Reel FX.  I have drafted, negotiated, and reviewed agreements for the motion pictures "Battleship," "Fast Five," "Free Birds," "Tower Heist" and "The Book of Life," among other projects.  While entertainment law has been my primary practice during my law career, I have also handled civil litigation, dispute resolution, and estate planning matters. Upon marrying the love of my life, Kim, in 2013, I returned to Columbus.  Now, I use the varied experience I gained working in California, and help my fellow Ohioans with their legal needs, including protecting their loved ones via comprehensive estate planning.

I am an active member of both the California and Ohio state bars.  I am also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association.

Over the course of my law career, I have two published legal articles:

Defendant's Attorney's Fees:  Copyright Infringement Cases Impose New Duties on Litigators to Evaluate Their Cases and Inform Their Clients Before Filing, ABA Entertainment and Sports Lawyer, April 1, 2012

Locational Privacy in the Sky:  Protecting the Movements of Non-Commercial Aircraft from Public View, Southwestern Law Review, February 23, 2013

Kim and I reside in the Waverly area with our daughters Elin and Greta.
